New Surface for Skelton Green Wheelie Area

The Wheelie Area at Skelton Green has been resurfaced.

Skelton Villages Environment Improvement Group originally secured funding for the creation of BMX track in Skelton Green, which was completed in 2011.

Skelton and Brotton Parish Council contributed to the original project, providing match funding, and have also provided grant funding to replace surface dust.

The track is well used by local young people, but was in desperate need of resurfacing.

After many years of carrying out successful projects, Skelton Villages Environment Improvement Group are regretfully working towards winding up the Group.  The Group wanted to ensure any remaining funds held were put to good use and the obvious project was the BMX track resurfacing.  Unfortunately their funds would not stretch far enough to cover the whole project, so they contacted Skelton and Brotton Parish Council to see if they could help.

The Parish Council felt it was a worthy project and were more than happy to assist.  They felt it was a fitting final project for the group and that they deserved to be helped and recognised for all the great work they had carried out over the years.
