A vacancy has arisen on Skelton and Brotton Parish Council for the position of Parish Councillor for Old Skelton Ward:
The electoral term of office is from May 2019. This vacancy will be filled by co-option
Any person interested in being co-opted as a Parish Councillor should write to the address above with brief details of their suitability, to be received before noon on Monday 9 April 2018
All applications will then be considered by the Council at the Full Parish Council Meeting on Monday 16 April 2018
The successful applicant will be expected to attend several meetings each month on a voluntary basis. There is no remuneration for this post. The Parish Council meets in Skelton Civic Hall on the third Monday evening of every month other than August, Bank Holidays, or in exceptional circumstances. Additional meetings may be arranged. Committee meetings are generally also held on Monday evenings.
It is a Local Government Act condition that Councillors either live or work within the Parish Council boundary or not more than three miles from the boundary. It is a further condition that Councillors must declare all their interests and comply with the Parish Council Code of Conduct.
