The weather was kind when Skelton and Brotton Parish Council held a Celebration Picnic Party for local children at their Play Area in Charlotte Street, Skelton.
The Picnic Party was held to celebrate the refurbishment of the mosaic, which adorns the walls of the electricity sub station on the edge of the site, and to thank those involved in bringing the Project to fruition.
The mosaic had originally been created by Village Arts, but had fallen into disrepair and was looking unsightly. Parish Councillor for New Skelton and Hollybush, Mrs Norma Morris submitted a successful funding bid to have the mosaic returned to its former glory. Funding was received from East Cleveland Villages Big Local, and artists Helen Gaunt and Derek Mosey carried out the work.
Silly Steve and his staff provided balloon modelling and face painting and the children enjoyed picnic boxes full of goodies.
