Double Celebration at Skelton & Brotton Parish Council Senior Citizen’s Afternoon Tea
It was a double celebration at Skelton and Brotton Parish Council’s Afternoon Tea Party, which was held on. Tuesday 17 February 2015.
Mrs Irene Taylor celebrated her 86th Birthday on the day, and Mr Maurice Dunn was going to be 92 the following Saturday.
The event was once again a great success with over 100 guests enjoying savoury and sweet delights catered by Julie Green, from Julie’s Cafe and Outside Catering.
Entertainment was provided by Councillor Mrs Kay Walker, Margaret Bowman, Roz Walker and Brian and Ann Gibbons who did a singing/comedy sketch. Mildred Baker organised the music for the afternoon and picked tunes to get people up and dancing, or at the very least tapping their toes.
Chair of Skelton and Brotton Parish Council, Councillor Angus McDonald thanked everyone for attending, and thanked the ‘Entertainment Party’ for making the event so enjoyable.
He later said that once again the event had been thoroughly enjoyed by those who attended, and for people to watch out for the next event in June. He was also please to once again bring together the communities of Skelton and Brotton.
